Eine Frau zu Sehen (original title)

To See a Woman

"To see a woman: just for a second, just for the brief span of a glance, to then lose it again in the darkness of a corridor, behind a door that I cannot open."Annemarie Schwarzenbach

In the snowy village of Sils Maria, an actress preparing to portray Annemarie Schwarzenbach crosses paths with a mysterious researcher. A forgotten notebook blurs the line between role and reality, in a quiet tale of longing, memory, and fleeting connection.

About Schwarzenbach

A writer, journalist, and photographer known for her striking beauty and restless spirit, Schwarzenbach defied convention with bold travels, queer love affairs, and a rich creative life. Born into privilege, she struggled with addiction and identity, forging deep ties with figures like Ella Maillart. Her life ended in Sils Maria, the same village where To See a Woman is set — a tribute to her legacy of longing, resistance, and freedom.
